About Sharehouse Zombie Apocalypse

Sharehouse Zombie Apocalypse

Sharehouse Zombie Apocalypse is a web series created by the unwashed miscreants who brought you the freely available feature film Dead Man Drinking and a number of other, more salient pieces of fiction. You can find a full list of the people involved with SZA here.

It contains harsh language, sexual references, some subtle violence and, of course, Zombies.

No Zombies were harmed during the production of this web series. Of course, it’s easy to say that because they probably don’t care that much about being beaten into a senseless mass of rotting flesh.

The first season of the show is available here. To remain in the know as to just when more of these little slices of weird will be inflicted upon the public, either join our mailing list, become a fan on facebook, subscribe to SZA as a vodcast or simply refresh the front page of this site like a crazy-person.

If you like what we do, and want to help support our efforts, there are a number of things you can do:

  • Tell your friends – post on forums, blog about it, or summarise in 140 characters or less why you enjoyed it on Twitter. No, really. Exposure is the most useful thing we can get. Y’know, next to mountains of cash and a functional teleporter. (If you can provide either of the latter two, please let us know)
  • Tell us that you like what we do. There’s nothing quite as encouraging as being able to read out fan-mail to cast & crew before a hard day’s slog in front of hot lights in a stinking Australian summer.
  • Donate a few of your Earth dollars (or pounds or drachmas or pieces of eight – we especially love pieces of eight) via the warm-coloured button situated below this chunk of rendered HTML. This money will go toward the expenses of creating a web series, including everything from hot food and light bulbs to divorce attorney fees from angry wives and girlfriends who’re sick of us spending our every waking moment drinking beer and fighting Zombies in Kings Cross. Find the donate link to the right. It’s orange. Which is, y’know, a good colour if you want something to stand out of a white web page, I feel.
  • Buy a t-shirt! They’re cool, AND you’ll be a walking billboard, albeit a rather diminutive one.

Want to know about the project? How we made it and why? Well, there’ll be a couple of sources for that in the future. We will be releasing a “behind the scenes” episode, with some info about our shoot, and also an audio commentary on the whole series, which will be streamable as a single video. Oh, and we’ll probably grab some booze and do a Drunkomentary™ too, for those who don’t think we’re mad enough.

Before all these are out, however, you can read a reasonably lengthy and in-depth blog post I wrote about the creative aspects of the production.

If you’re interested in what other works of visual fiction we’ve done, check out our main web site – expect problems. From there you can see a list of our films and just where on the big bad internet you can obtain them.
